Studio: Art & Craft students extend their practice and research into specialist areas
Supporting Studies: Drawing or CAD, Contemporary Art Practice
This one year advanced diploma aims to encourage students to develop their unique talents and artistic skills, with a more specialised focus on their creative practice. The emphasis is on the acquisition of skills and integration of the theory of contemporary art practice, resulting in producing artworks with a sound personal philosophical base.
Studio:
Art & Craft students extend their practice and research into specialist areas of Ceramics, Painting, Jewellery or Sculpture.
Drawing
Using a variety of approaches, students will increase their visual awareness, observational skills, understanding of form and structure; and will develop an individual interpretation. Students experiment in a variety of traditional and contemporary media to build up their drawing and mark making skills.
CAD
We are an accredited Rhino 3D provider. The course covers all aspects of 3D modelling and rendering. Students will use rapid prototyping to generate models of their work.
Contemporary Art Practice
Students will analyse and interpret contemporary art and design theory, and understand how these inform contemporary art practices. Students will define their place as an artist/craftsperson and gain the skills needed to market art work in todays world.
